My Review

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Aiden Bishop is at Blackheath House, attending a party to welcome Evelyn Hardcastle back into her family’s fold. Evelyn has been living in Paris for the past 19 years, but she is now back in England.

However, Evelyn is murdered the night of her party, and it’s up to Aiden to solve the case.

It’s not as clear-cut as it may sound, as each day Aiden wakes up not as himself but as one of the other guests… He has eight days and eight different bodies to put all the pieces together. However, he has rivals who are also investigating Evelyn’s death, and whoever finds the answer first will leave Blackheath.

There is also a footman following Aiden, trying to kill all of his hosts…

This book was INSANELY good. I can’t get my head around the ingenuity and intricacy of the plot. There were twists and turns around each corner. When I thought I knew where the book was heading, the author threw in more plot twists.

At the beginning (first few chapters), I had no idea what was going on, as Aiden was ‘Sebastian Bell’ who wakes up in Blackheath with a memory loss, but as I was reading, the pieces started to gradually come together.

When I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about the book, wondering when I would be able to read more of it. This is so rare for me these days! I hardly ever come across a book that makes me think about it so much.

This was my first book by this author, but it won’t be my last. It’s a perfect homage to Agatha Christie, who is my favourite author of all time.

I definitely recommend it.
